We found the perfect book for your future feminist children

In a modern world where we aim to teach generations of children that women are more than just princesses who need to be saved by a prince, a book has provided us with a story that says women empowerment, gender equality are not just fairy tales: Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls.

This illustrated children’s book is a collection of stories of 100 inspiring girls from all walks of life, from Queen Elizabeth I to Serena Williams. The book was crowdfunded and has raised over $1 million, the most funded original book through crowdfunding.

The book is created by Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo, co-founders of Timbuktu Labs, a creative marketing agency for children’s entertainment. “We are responding to a clear need [when we created this book]. When we started Timbuktu four years ago and became entrepreneurs, we could see how much female stereotypes were still around,” says Favilli about the book.

The book is currently a New York Times Bestseller, and it has been featured several news publications. A second book, Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls 2, has also been published, and is also selling out worldwide.

This book is definitely not just for children, but those who love to read about the stories of powerful women from all over the world! Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls and Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls 2 are available in Amazon and in major bookstores in the Philippines. InqPOP!/Bea Constantino
