Seventeen’s DK gifts fans with a new official soundtrack. For the K-drama lover Carats, it surely is the best of both worlds!
DK, vocalist member from the K-pop boy band ‘Seventeen,’ lends his wonderful vocals to the on-going coming-of-age K-drama, “Twenty Five, Twenty One”. He sang the latest official soundtrack titled “Go!” which was released on February 27.
Falling under the genre of rock, the track radiates a positive energy from beginning to end. And just like the tune, it has an uplifting message for the listeners, especially to the youth. It’s safe to say that it does not only make a good OST, but also a good song to listen to if you need a little ‘push’ to feel motivated.
It seems like the track is speaking from the female lead’s point of view as it captures her determination to achieve her dreams. Na Hee Do (portrayed by Kim Tae Ri) is a high schooler who is passionate about becoming a national fencing athlete.
The ambitious lyrics of “Go!” read, “Let’s blow away all the anxious thoughts / I’ve only been waiting for this moment… I’m getting tired as if I’m out of breath / There’s not much left for that finish line.”
The track which mostly tackled the protagonist’s emotions can be heard playing during Na Hee Do’s fencing duel scene.
Only a day after the release, the track already made its debut on the worldwide iTunes song chart at No. 15. As of February 28, the track climbed to No. 1 spot on iTunes charts in 5 countries such as Argentina, Chile, Indonesia, Philippines, and Qatar. Moreover, the track ranked among Top 5 on iTunes Czech Republic, Malaysia, Thailand, United Arab, and Vietnam.
“Go!” is DK’s second OST as a soloist following his first entitled “Missed Connection,” the OST for the 2018 drama Tempted.
