The Pokémon Company will be releasing their newest game on the Nintendo Switch, and it just might be the latest action RPG you’re looking for.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest in the generation of Pokémon video game series and serves as a prequel to the 2006 Nintendo DS role-playing video games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
The game is set to feature an open world setting building on the Wild Area introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield. For players, the objective of the game is to create Hisui’s first Pokédex.
In past games in the Pokémon series, catching a Pokémon once would completely fill in its entry in your Pokédex. But in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, your research on each Pokémon species will progress in levels, allowing you to enjoy delving deeper into researching different Pokémon.
The mythical Pokémon Arceus will also play a major role in the story.
Currently scheduled for worldwide release on January 28, 2022, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is said to be the first known project in the action role-playing subgenre to be undertaken by Game Freak studio.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is part of the Pokémon 25th Anniversary event alongside Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
