What’s in a business name? ‘Ay, Cookie Mo!’ wants you to laugh while munching on their yummy baked goods

(Editor’s Note): Small businesses play an important role in our economy, because they provide opportunities for our local entrepreneurs, as well as sustainable and meaningful livelihood or means of income for many of their hired workforce. This is why the editorial team of POP! will be actively featuring small businesses to give them the marketing push they need to reach a wider audience. Let’s help our local entrepreneurs bounce back this year!

Had a stressful week? Then it’s best to reward yourself with something yummy, simply because you deserve it. With a range of unique flavors to choose from, ‘Ay, Cookie Mo!’ may have just the treat you’ve been craving for.

With a wild tagline that says “Cookie mo. Cookie ko. Cookie nating lahat,” this small business aims to spread the warmth and comfort that comes with their delicious homemade goodies. For young baker AA dela Cruz, this is just the first step to achieving her childhood dream of opening a café. She finds fulfillment in sharing her baked creations with people who appreciate the things she has to offer. “I have good intentions for my customers because every time I bake, I wish for good vibes and love for whoever is going to eat it,” she explains.

Its quirky name ‘Ay, Cookie Mo!’ is a reference to the expression often interjected in abject surprise or shock by titas and lolas everywhere: “ay, p**i mo!” AA shared that it would often come up as a friendly, comical banter in conversations with her sister–their own, double entendre take on the said line. For naughty Filipinos, it’s not surprising to hear the words “Uy, ingat sa cookie ko” uttered as a joke.

Whether you’re in the mood for a classic chocolate chip (Ay, Classic Mo), or looking to explore more exciting flavors like Ay, Oat Chocnut or Ay, Ube Choco this humble shop is sure to have something for everyone, green-minded or not.

Apart from fan favorites on their menu, there are also selections for mini cookie cereals and cookie ala mode bowls. They also accept orders for customized dessert boxes.
