Trixie Mattel reacts to school using her picture to illustrate do’s and don’ts for grad makeup

A college’s recent post has caught the attention of Trixie Mattel after featuring her photo in a graduation makeup infographic.

One image featured a graduating student with the text, “Do’s: Wear Simple and Light Makeup.” On the right, a photo of Trixie, all glammed up, displayed the text, “Don’ts: Overloaded Makeup.”

The “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Season 3 winner saw the post reacted to the school’s post on social media.

In a post made by Mattel on X (formerly Twitter), her post reads, “A college is using my picture for this.”

The drag queen also posted on TikTok reacting to the said incident stating, “So this is an example of ‘don’t be more concerned than the people it concerns.’ This school posted a picture of me as an example of wearing too much makeup for a graduation photo.”

Mattel added, “I was not offended. I think it’s funny. I mean, I love it. It didn’t bother me at all.”

Upon seeing her post, people took to social media to share their thoughts about the viral photo.

In response to “some misunderstanding and concern” raised by the viral post, Cornasia posted an official statement on their Facebook page.

Cronasia Foundation College, Inc.’s Basic Education Department stated, “Our school acknowledges that the communication around the ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ for graduation pictures may have caused confusion and unintended frustration.”

“For this, we sincerely apologize to the people involved – Trixie Mattel and the Drag community, our students, and families. We also acknowledge that the use of certain words and punctuation was our fault,” they added.

“To make sure they are clear, inclusive, and considerate of individual needs and preferences,” Cronasia stated that they would also review their standards.

The school also added that they “deeply regret any distress this may have caused” and appreciate the people understanding the situation as they work to clarify the situation. Their “commitment remains to celebrate each student’s success with fairness, dignity and inclusivity.”
