Marit Larsen and Marion Raven have been friends since they were 5 years old, and they created their duo when they were 8 years old.

They released a children’s album under the name “Marit & Marion” in 1996 when Raven was 12 and Larsen was 11 years old.

The duo changed their name to M2M after signing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1998, they debuted their hit single “Don’t Say You Love Me” in 1999 which remained their biggest hit.

M2M was famously known for writing most of their songs and performing their own instruments, a rare fit and what set them aside from the other teen pop artists back then.

In 2002 the duo broke up, choosing to pursue their own solo careers.
