The ‘coincidences’ don’t seem like coincidences anymore.
On June 26, 2023, at 12 M.N. KST, ADOR revealed a teaser for “ETA,” a track in NewJeans’ upcoming 2nd EP, “Get Up.” The EP is set for release on July 21, 2023, and is about more than 6 months since their 1st single album, “OMG.”
While Bunnies all around the world have been hyping up the monster rookie girl group’s comeback, others felt completely uncomfortable with the NewJeans’ concept for the music video of “ETA,” especially after the ending showing the names “Eva,” “Mikel,” and “Maria,” and the date of the music video’s release, July 21.
While “ETA” is short for “Estimated Time of Arrival” and the teaser was supported with fictional flight details showing a flight number, “NJ721” and their destination at SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium—a.k.a. details for their upcoming fan meeting titled “Bunnies Camp” on July 1-2, 2023, the coincidences of everything felt troubling for most fans, especially Spanish fans.

see at first i thought it was just the same acronym but no all this being the same as well??? literally what the fuck is wrong with hybe and min heejin https://t.co/iT1cQ2Wc1k pic.twitter.com/yXq0YMyfft

im sorry there is just no way all of this is a coincidence i know min heejin thinks this is deep but its actually just weird and corny especially for a group of teenage girls that are gonna take more of the blame by the public pic.twitter.com/b1h2IvgMnB

TL:DR, “ETA” was a name of the armed Basque nationalist and far left separatist group from the Basque Country (northern Spain and southwestern France). And the teaser with the car? It was almost like a reference to one of the ETA’s most infamous attacks—the assassination of Luis Carrero Blanco, which resulted in the death of 3 people.
Fans of NewJeans have been calling out Min Hee-jin, ADOR’s CEO, for the distasteful concept she envisioned for one of NewJeans’ music videos. They have also made it clear that they were not hating on NewJeans themselves, but on Min Hee-jin’s problematic concepts.
This was not the first time fans were accusing Min Hee-jin for her “inspiration”—they have noted her past works with f(x) and SHINee, as well as NewJeans’ Lolita-inspired concepts during their debut.
not liking min heejin is one thing but thinking she would make a concept or relate her group's comeback with a fcking t3rror!st thing that could endanger both her and the girls is sick and twisted?? they could literally be k worded? do y'all think even an ounce?

is so obvious at this point that min heejin uses rage bait as a way to promote newjeans, is not a problem to her bc she is not the one who has to put her face on the project https://t.co/AYsKiWi49W

nwjeans fans are unfortunately so dense that any criticism against min heejin is seen as nwj hate when it's not. you lot called people haters for genuinely being concerned about these girls when they debuted and now you likely will do the same.

i checked and all names are indeed related to ETA + new jeans filmed their first mvs in Spain and now they filmed them in Portugal + HYBE is historically a terrible company when it comes fo cultural sensitivity + Min Heejin is a fucking weirdo https://t.co/teErrGSMFx

Min Heejin is a fcking psychopath, wtf is this?? Y’all are genuinely absurd if you think there isn’t some secret agenda being pushed with nj. I feel bad for those poor girls but supporting them means supporting that creep. pic.twitter.com/950DHjswl3
