Writers from coast to coast in the United States have each formed picket lines in order to demand for higher and fairer pay, and protest their working conditions and the possibility of industry dependence on AI tools.
Some celebrities have also voiced their support for these writers on strike, and as one of them pointed out, “I don’t get what the problem is. Everything changed with streaming, and everyone should be compensated for their work. It’s fucking easy.”
As such, scripted productions, shows, and films (that need rewriting) in Hollywood have had to shut down and put on hold. This may be a growing list, so please do bear with us. At the same time, let’s show our solidarity to writers (and workers) everywhere by amplifying their fight to receive the compensation they deserve.
