Girl in a jacket

Whether you’re swamped because of work and school and in need of an effective stress-reliever, or just looking for some ‘refreshing’ entertainment to consume this summer season, these South Korean BL (Boys’ Love) will surely help you unwind.

Bonus: Some of these are perfect for people with a short attention span as some of the titles only have 7-10 episodes.

Individual Circumstances

Individual Circumstances is a story about a maverick young movie director, Ha Yeon Woo (Han Jung Wan), who doubts himself after a promising debut. He had a chance encounter with Sung Woo Jae (Jun.Q), who is a famous fiction writer and a friend with whom he hasn’t talked for a long time, whose first love didn’t end well. Finding answers in one another, their story is an invisible string just waiting to be untangled.

Our Dating Sim

Just like encoding, love is all about the small details. Our Dating Sim revolves around Lee Wan (Lee Jong Hyuk) and Shin Ki Tae (Lee Seung Gyu), high school friends who have been apart after Lee Wan confesses his affection towards Shin Ki Tae, only to be reunited again at work. This series shows us the value of our choices and the importance of every minute detail.

Unintentional Love Story

Unintentional Love Story tells the story of Ji Won Young (Gongchan) who has been discharged from the company he’s working for due to a corruption scandal. Desperate to win the favor of the Chairman to be reinstated, he tracked down the Chairman’s favorite artist, Yoon Tae Joon (Cha Seo Won). However, it is evident the latter doesn’t want to be found, so Ji Won Young tries his best to be close and learn about Yoon Tae Joon, only to begin developing feelings for him. A story of understanding, this quirky and heartfelt series will surely leave a place in your heart.

The Eight Sense

Being confused may probably be one of the most common attributes in understanding one’s sexuality, and The Eight Sense did tackle just that. Ji Hyun (Oh Jun Taek), a new student from a tranquil rural area, finds it challenging to fit in with Seoul’s hectic metropolitan life. He meets Jae Won (Im Ji Sub), who has just finished his military service, while attending university. When they started developing feelings for each other, Jae Won acted as if nothing was happening, leaving Ji Hyun confused about their relationship.

A Shoulder to Cry On

Who doesn’t even want the enemies-to-friend trope? A Shoulder to Cry On is a story about a popular student, Jo Tae Hyun (Shin Ye Chan) who is carefree, and an outsider, Lee Da Yeol (Kim Jae Han) a scholar whose only real joy comes from archery. Their story began when a rumor spread about Lee Da Yeol because of Jo Tae Hyun, risking Lee Da Yeol’s scholarship. Be it angst or excitement, this drama is comforting, like a shoulder that you can lean on.
