The Batman hands over his slick, black cape to the illustrious Keanu Reeves as the actor lends his voice to the beloved superhero for the upcoming animated film DC League of Super-Pets.
On March 7, Batman’s trailer for DC League of Super-Pets was revealed. It featured Reeves’ distinct voice as the superhero in animated form who looks back on his catastrophic past with an unfamiliar but jovial dog named Ace (voiced by Kevin Hart).
The pair will be seen alongside other significant characters such as Superman (voiced by John Krasinski) and Krypto the Super-Dog (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), who also showed themselves for a short moment in the trailer.
The animated film will also showcase the voices of many renowned stars such as Vanessa Bayer who will voice PB, Wonder Woman’s pet pig; Natasha Lyonne will be portraying Merton, the turtle who teams up with The Flash; and Diego Luna will be voiving Ch’p, Green Lantern’s squirrel that possesses electrokinetic powers. Kate McKinnon, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Jameela Jamil are also anticipated to be part of the cast of the animated film, filling in the roles of the powerful superheroes of the Justice League.
DC League of Super-Pets follows Superman and his Super-Dog Krypto, two good companions that combat existing felonies within the Metropolis. But when Superman and other Justice League heroes get abducted, Krypto must find a way to bring all of them back. He tries to persuade other “super” animals just like him to save the superheroes who the people badly need.
Jared Stern – a writer, producer, and director known for his works such as The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie as a screenwriter – will be directing the animated superhero film.
DC League of Super-Pets is set for release in theaters on May 20, 2022.
