Staying in the hospital can be difficult especially for kids and their families who just want to enjoy the simple things in life. Making a difference for these people can be done in many ways.
Lollipop Theater Network is a US nonprofit organization that brings movies that are currently in theaters to children who are confined in hospitals due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Their aim is to bring joy, wonder and a momentary escape to the children and their families who need it most.
To help sustain their efforts, they decided to organize a fundraising activity to help raise awareness as well as the funds needed to bring smiles to more children. They searched for artists who would be able to design an exclusive shirt so that people can easily support the cause.
And from dozens of works submitted by other artists in the US, it only took a Filipino talent to finally get the job done: graphic artist Bob Cruz, who is also the Associate Creative Director at J. Walter Thompson Manila. Upon seeing some of his works online, Lollipop Theater’s team reached out to Cruz to request for his help to get their fundraising activity going. Despite being oceans apart, he was able to work silently with the team to create this one-of-a-kind t-shirt.
Now making a difference can be as easy as buying a shirt. All proceeds made from this go into helping bring the magic of movies to hospitalized kids in the US. And to raise further awareness to the cause, Cruz’s design is being worn by famous celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Miranda Cosgrove, Tim Allen, George Lopez, Mindy Kaling and many others.
