The many times Homer Simpson slapped us with a dose of reality

All good things must come to an end and that’s what exactly happened to The Simpsons. For 30 years, the animated series has been providing us the “most sophisticated satire to ever appear on television” with episodes that critique politics and perfectly reflect the flaws in culture and society.

Created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company, the animated show has broadcast more than 600 episodes and 31 seasons, making it the longest-running primetime scripted series. The story revolves around the comical adventures of a dysfunctional family (which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie) that lives in a fictional town called Springfield.

And despite being renewed for the 32nd season, The Simpsons’ composer Danny Elfman mentioned in his interview with Joe that the much-loved tv show will be ending soon.

“Well, from what I’ve heard, it is coming to an end. I don’t know for a fact, but I’ve heard that it will be in its last year,” said Elfman.
