Sarah Jessica Parker has teamed up with Sunglass Hut, which is part of the Luxottica Group, on a new collection of shades, reports Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).
The collection, which goes on sale on Thursday, Oct. 3, is the result of a collaboration between the eyewear brand and the star’s fashion label, SJP.
“It was very important to me when creating this collection that they would be an accessory I would want to wear all the time, no matter the occasion,” Parker told WWD of the collection, which is said to feature an exclusive new shape based on a pair of glasses that is no longer produced. The model will come in five different colors, with each pair branded with the SJP logo.
“I owned a pair of shield-shaped sunglasses in the Nineties that I absolutely loved, and I was so sad when they were discontinued,” the “Sex and the City” star said. “People would ask me where to buy this style and now I can happily say they are available at Sunglass Hut.”
Parker is well versed in fashion design, having first launched her SJP fashion label back in 2014. The company specializes in colorful, fashionable shoes with a signature grosgrain ribbon detail. The actress has since added accessories and a series of little black dresses to the lineup. She has also teamed up with outside labels such as Gilt and Gap Kids on various design collaborations.
Parker is not the only big name to put her stamp on the eyewear world lately — Formula One champion driver Lewis Hamilton launched his debut eyewear collection for Police earlier this month, while Jennifer Lopez and her fiance Alex Rodriguez released an eyewear collection with the Australian brand Quay in March.
