The details and plans about this 460 acre-site were announced by Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki, Aichi governor Hideaki Omura, and Chunichi CEO Uichiro Oshima during a press conference in Tokyo last Friday. They also mentioned that Miyazaki’s only son named Goro Miyazaki has been very involved in working on the park’s creative side.

According to reports, locals and tourists, who are a fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s magical worlds, can expect five-themed areas based on “Howl’s Moving Castle” and “My Neighbor Totoro.”

Although plans for “Spirited Away” were never mentioned during the press conference, the Mononoke Village, which is based on “Princess Mononoke” and the Valley of the Witch area from “Kiki’s Delivery Service” will also be featured in the theme park.

Of course, the team will continue to uphold the Japanese animator’s pro-environmental values. This only means that not a single tree will be cut down during its construction.
