The best pro and amateur athletes from all over the world will clash at the 3rd running of the Philippine Beach Games. Featuring 11 beach sports including Beach Volleyball, Beach Football and Beach Ultimate, the 3-day event to be held on May 24-26, 2019 at Lingayen, Pangasinan is a showcase of new alternative sports in which Filipinos can be competitive at the world stage.
“We are home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. PBG aims to introduce to Filipinos these new and rapidly growing beach sports where we can naturally excel and be competitive against the world’s best.” Said PBG General Coordinator JP Demontaño.
With athletes from China, Dubai, Thailand and Malaysia competing alongside Filipino athletes, the event promises to deliver world-class competition and entertainment for sports-lovers and vacationers. Following the intense action in the playing grounds will be live parties and festivities where athletes and fans can share a wonderful time together at the beach.
Beyond entertainment, PBG is making a big effort in educating Filipinos about these new beach sports. Several top sports groups and organizations be conducting free clinics and set up casual games among spectators.
“One of the core aims of PBG is to get young athletes to play and compete in these new sports. We have setup a line-up of fun activities and clinics so they can experience how to play beach games.” Said Demontaño
The city of Lingayen, Pangasinan serves as the perfect backdrop to the event with its uniquely flat 4KM stretch of beach front. The city’s close proximity to major cities like Manila, Dagupan, Baguio and San Fernando make it an ideal attraction for sports fans, weekenders and vacationers this summer.
So if you want to witness world-class sports action and have a good time at the beach, check out the Philippine Beach Games on May 24 to 26 2019 at the Lingayen Beach in Pangasinan.
