The 14th Lasallian Press Conference presents ‘Sync or Sink: Integrating Print and Digital Media’

In a time of ever-shifting mediums, campus journalists must strike the perfect balance between print and digital media.

For the 14th installment of the Lasallian Press Conference (LSPCON), an annual campus journalism fellowship that gathers student journalists from the different member schools under De La Salle Philippines, the title and theme, “Sync or Sink: Integrating Print and Digital Media” is a call to student-writers to get in sync with the continuing transformation of media and avoid sinking with outdated practices of communication.

This year’s LSPCON, spearheaded by this year’s host De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde through its Student Publications Office, will be held on May 29 to 31 at the School of Design and Arts Campus.

With seminars and hands-on workshops on opinion writing, graphic design, digital storytelling, data visualization, photojournalism, citizen journalism, and even digital marketing and business transformation, LSPCON 2019 will serve as an avenue for student journalists and advisers to learn from the country’s best communicators.

Speakers include former editor-in-chief of INQUIRER.net John Nery, Plus63 Founding Partner and graphic designer Dan Matutina, lensman Jilson Tiu, Adobo Magazine Creative Director Chaz Requiña, Town and Country Philippines editor-in-chief Yvette Fernandez, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism Senior Reporter Karol Ilagan, GMA Network’s Assistant Social Media Manager for News Justin Joyas, and PLDT Vice President for Digital Strategy and Consumer Disruptive Business Carlo Ople.

There is a registration fee of Php 3,800 (inclusive of fellowship kit, food, short film screenings, and freebies). Participants may register here: https://forms.gle/g9nEst8g5eHNjYSZ7 while payment information can be found here: https://bit.ly/2GqaQKW.
