There’s a reason why we meet new people at different stages of our lives. It’s either they become our enemies, or luckily, our besties. But, one way or another, these people will surely make a huge impact on our life.
Just like the story of Brianna Cry, a 19-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, who asked Twitter users to help her find her long-lost pal. In a Twitter post, Brianna mentioned that she had a “short-lived” friendship with a girl she met on a dinner cruise in Honolulu, Hawaii back in 2006.
Hey twitter, I met this girl on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006. We were basically bestfriends for that night so I need y’all to help me find my bestfriend cause I miss her and I need to see how she’s doing now. Please retweet this so we can be reunited. pic.twitter.com/LRtk6ClvV3

In an interview with Buzzfeed News, Brianna said: “I don’t think there were many kids our age on this particular dinner cruise, so I guess we just found each other and stuck together the whole time. The other night I was going through old scrapbooks and watching vacation videos and I saw her. So I was like: ‘Wow, let’s see if Twitter can find her for me…'”
And yes, the Internet has once again proven its limitless capacity. In less than 12 hours, Brianna’s long-lost bestie named Heidi responded with a selfie, holding a family picture that is believed to be taken on the same cruise.

Brianna was really shocked at the unexpected turn of events. She never thought that this would be a case of when “Twitter do your thing” works out and other people would be so invested in their story.
“I honestly thought it would take at least a week to find her. The internet is so amazing and showed me that it really is a small world after all,” she said.
Apparently, Heidi hadn’t logged into Twitter in years. However, her friends had been bugging her about it so she decided to sign back in, “the first thing I see is a search party for my ass.” And just like what long-lost besties do, Brianna said that they have been exchanging stories to make sure the other is “caught up on life and school and everything.”
While Twitter users expect a face-to-face reunion, Heidi and Brianna told everyone that it’s not happening anytime soon.
To everyone who’s saying @briannacry and I should meet up: I’m going to community college on financial aid 😂😂😂 I’m not going anywhere anytime soon pic.twitter.com/PJaqZqHZvP

Of course, some people out there would surely take advantage of the situation. So Brianna and Heidi have cautioned people not to donate to any GoFundMe accounts, claiming to sponsor their reunion. Since both of them have been honest about their financial difficulties, Heidi said that until then, “FaceTime and social media will have to do.”
Well, the Internet isn’t all bad, right?
