Small and often overlooked objects take the focus of this year’s photo exhibit in UP Los Baños.
This April, the UP Photographers’ Society or UP PhotoS brings attention to details, as it highlights generally disregarded objects encountered in the everyday life. The PIRASO: A Photo Exhibit showcases 113 photographs which depict the art and the story of every specific detail.
PIRASO is a free and open photo exhibit which runs from April 17 to 26, 2018 at the Student Union Mural in UP Los Baños. Through the exhibit, UP PhotoS aims to show that a simple detail has its own story to tell which can also bring depth to a bigger picture that it is part of.
Different visual interpretations of young photography enthusiasts are portrayed by the photographs in PIRASO. Some of the photos include a closer look at a used hair brush, the internal parts of an abandoned typewriter, the human body, plants and animal parts, and more photographs of different colors, perspectives, and stories.
This exhibit is a major activity of UP PhotoS, the premiere photography organization of UP Los Baños. UP PhotoS is composed of students and alumni of the university who share the same passion for photography. Other activities of the organization include photo seminars featuring the famous photographers in the Philippines, photo workshops which aim to educate the students about the power of the still media, and outreach to various communities.
