This 82-year-old grandma can still beat you in basketball

We’ve all experienced being so tired by just doing the bare minimum at some point (you know, like facing life) and having no energy left for physical activities. But then the universe gives us a cold slap in the face to wake us up and let us know that while we’re too busy doing nothing, there’s someone out there making actual use of their energy to excel in life.

For instance, Yue Jingxia, an 82-year-old grandma in Hefei, East China’s Anhui Province, is showing kids how she’s both winning in life and in basketball. Her excellent skills in the physically demanding sport gained her the nickname “Basketball Granny” from Chinese netizens.

According to Shine, Jingxia was born in 1936 and fell in love with basketball when she was in the fourth grade. As part of her exercise routine, she does yoga every morning before playing basketball for 20 to 30 minutes. The sport is apparently her secret to staying healthy and happy.

Even at her age, Jingxia can still keep up with the young ones while playing basketball and show them how it’s done. She hopes she can inspire young people to exercise more and have a healthy and positive lifestyle.
