Heartbroken man plays piano non-stop for lost love–gets punched instead

A heartbroken musician named Luke Howard has set up a piano in a city park in Bristol, England and vowed to play non-stop until the love of his life returns to him.

He said it was his “last throw of the dice” to win back the heart of his ex-girlfriend who split up with him after a four-month relationship.

He added he was doing it to show how much he loved her, and hoped his stunt would spread through social media so she would see what he was doing and go back to him.

“It may sound whimsical but she completely changed my life. My entire world shifted.

“I wanted to do something that she might see, to let her know how much I love her, that she can see it and then take it or leave it.”

Luke’s stunt — which started this past Saturday, September 9 — went viral in a matter of hours, but not in the way he would have wanted. While some found his gesture romantic, the majority of people thought it was creepy and in bad taste.

While the backlash did not deter him in his quest, he was forced to stop after playing continuously for two days, claiming somebody punched him in the head at around 4am this past Monday, September 11. He also admitted that he “…realized that what I had wanted to do had spectacularly failed.”
