The “Squid Game” fever is still at an all-time high, as the Korean original series remains at the forefront of people’s minds following the release of its second season last December 2024.
Being that Filipinos can have very witty minds, a trend has popped up on TikTok with them putting themselves in a game played in the show but making it in a Philippine setting.
In essence, the on-screen text presents the game’s setup before the user starts playing the scenario that is presented.
With the trend making its waves in the online space, social media users and celebrities started jumping into the “Squid Game PH” train.
SB19 member Justin came on board with his entry writing, “Tanggalin ang buhol ng earphones [Untagle the knots on earphones].”

A user on TikTok included lumpia wrappers into their entry with a text overlay that reads, “Pag hiwalayin ang 100 pcs lumpia wrapper in 1 minute [Separate 100 pieces of lumpia wrapper in 1 minute].”
TikTok creator Lottie Bie chimed in writing, “bawal ang matalino [smart is forbidden].”
Katol is the way to go with another TikTok user attempting to separate a mosquito coil on his entry on the trend.
Gifer Fernandez tried to find the end of the scotch tape writing, “hanapin ang dulo ng scotch tape [find the end of the scotch tape]…”

A TikTok user suggested to try peeling off the skin of watermelon seeds and wrote, “try mo mag balat ng butong pakwan na walang sira in 15 minutes hahaha [try to peel off the skin of watermelon seeds without breaking in 15 minutes hahaha].”
