TWICE’s maknae and only Taiwanese member Tzuyu is the next soloist from the girl group!
On August 1, 2024, at 12 M.N. KST, JYP Entertainment announced that Tzuyu is the next member from TWICE that will make her solo debut. She is the third member of TWICE to go solo, following Nayeon with her mini album ‘IM NAYEON’ in 2022, and Jihyo with her album ‘ZONE’ released in 2023.

Tzuyu will be releasing her solo mini album ‘abouTZU”’on September 6, 2024 at 1 P.M. KST. For the past week since the announcement, Tzuyu has been releasing her concept photos for her upcoming album and has also announced her EP’s track list.

‘abouTZU’ will include 6 tracks, led by the track titled ‘Run Away’. The album sees features by different artists, including J.Y. Park as the sole lyricist for ‘Run Away’, BTOB’s Peniel for ‘Heartbreak In Heaven’, and rapper pH-1 for the song ‘Lazy Baby’, who also penned lyrics and contributed to the song’s composition for the tracks they’ll feature in.
One song from the album, ‘Fly’ sees Tzuyu as its sole lyricist, and will be the first track she ever penned herself.
Chou Tzuyu, or mononymously known as Tzuyu, debuted under JYP Entertainment as a member of girl group TWICE in 2015. She and TWICE debuted with their first mini album, ‘The Story Begins’ with the lead single “Like Ooh-Ahh.”
Over the years, she released covers of Taylor Swift’s “Me!” and Ava Max’s “Christmas Without You,” as part of the group’s “Melody Project” series.
