YG Entertainment goes over and beyond expectations following the announcement of their 2025 plans

Looks like the YG Family is set to dominate the K-pop scene next year!

In a surprise move on July 22, 2024, at 12 M.N. KST, YG Entertainment posted a video detailing their plans for 2025. YG Entertainment founder and former CEO Yang Hyun-suk appeared in the video himself to announce all the planned activities for their groups.

By their groups, we mean all of them.

The video announcement (and Yang Hyun-suk) started with a surprise announcement that 2NE1—one of YG Entertainment and K-pop’s most successful girl groups to have ever been formed, will be reforming and reuniting for a global tour. The tour is set to begin in Seoul this October and will continue on to Osaka in November and Tokyo in December.

More cities and dates will be announced in the future.

This, according to fans, was the most surprising thing to ever happen. BLACKJACKs, or 2NE1’s fandom, suddenly rose up from the “dead” and rejoiced over the girl group’s ‘undisbandment’.

The 2NE1 members also shared the news on their social media pages, not even hiding their joy over their reuniting.

Following that announcement, Yang Hyun-suk also detailed the activities of their other artists—BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, AKMU, TREASURE, and WINNER.

BLACKPINK is slated for a highly anticipated comeback, as well as an upcoming world tour.

This has brought the woes and concerns of fans over the girl group’s apparent lack of activities, where BLINKs themselves have been planning to attend BLACKPINK’s anniversary event and asking them questions of their official group activities instead of the usual fan-call things.

TREASURE, YG Entertainment’s youngest boy group, and BABYMONSTER, the agency’s youngest girl group, are also set to embark on world tours of their own in 2025.

WINNER, whose full-group activities have been halted due to the members going on their mandatory military enlistment, is speculated to return in 2025. Members Mino and Yoon are set to be discharged from the military by the end of 2024.

AKMU—YG Entertainment’s beloved brother-sister duo act, will be continuing their promotions. The duo have recently released their third EP, “Love Episode” in June 2024 and had just recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in the industry.

Yang Hyun-suk also revealed that YG Entertainment has its “next monster” waiting in the wings. In other terms, they’re preparing to debut a brand-new group in 2025.

Fans had definitely a lot to say, especially with the news that all of YG Entertainment’s girl groups will be active simultaneously in the upcoming months.

2025 K-pop releases are looking out to be more interesting, now that YG Entertainment is coming out to play once more.
