ARMYs get emotional after Korean actor Kim Woo Bin acquires historic BigHit headquarters

In a remarkable intersection of South Korea’s entertainment world, renowned actor Kim Woo Bin has recently purchased a building steeped in K-pop history.

On the 25th, the actor’s agency, AM Entertainment, revealed that Kim Woo Bin had bought a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with the property costing around 13.7 billion KRW (approximately 10.7 million USD).

The building in question is none other than the first-ever headquarters of BigHit Entertainment (now rebranded as HYBE). BigHit (HYBE) occupied the building from 2007 until they moved their office from Nonhyeon-dong to Samseong-dong in 2018, then relocated to Yongsan in 2020.

For ARMYs, fans of BTS, the said building is not just a piece of real estate; it is a repository of countless memories for BTS, the global sensation that has taken the world by storm. There, the seven members of the group—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—spent their formative years honing their craft, creating music, and forging a bond that would eventually captivate millions around the globe.

What Kim Woo Bin plans to do with the building remains a subject of much speculation. Yet, some fans hope it could be preserved as a museum or a cultural site dedicated to BTS and their journey. Others envision it as a dynamic space for new artists to develop their talents in the same spirit as the original Bighit headquarters.

As it enters a new chapter under the actor’s ownership, fans around the world eagerly await to see how this piece of K-pop history will continue to inspire and influence future generations.
