Manila’s AboutRadio is living proof that raw talent, ambition, and honesty can still prevail in an ailing music industry.
Kiko Flores (guitars), the band’s think tank, together with Ezy Sefuentes (vocals), JC Asuncion, Mark Lim, Jojo Duenas, and Ianne Silong are part of AboutRadio; a band which defines its sound as good old 90s OPM pop alternative radio.
“Alon” is your ultimate hugot song; it is for people who fought for love and got hurt in the end. Part of the chorus goes, ‘Magpapalipas, magpapaka-abala, magtitiyagang burahin sa alala ngunit nagsusulat ka pa rin at nagsusulat ako ng kantang tungkol sa’yo pa rin’. (Let it pass, distract yourself, try to erase it from your memory but in the end you still write; I still write songs about you.); making the listeners think about love gone wrong but still crave for that same love in the end. “We knew the time was just right to bring back this classic sound of the 90s which OPM needs. We all need some of the hugot in our lives from time to time.” Ezy says about the song.
