ZB1’s Seok Matthew’s Pokémon collection livestream goes viral for all the unexpected reasons

It really wasn’t about the Pokémon cards, now was it?

Pokémon really is that cultural icon that’ll stay no matter what year it is, and has almost everyone in a chokehold—K-pop idols included.

On April 5, 2024, ZEROBASEONE’s Seok Matthew held a live showcase of his Pokémon collection after a fan requested it. Being the Pokémon fanboy that he was (which was evident in many instances), he happily displayed his collection to the fans watching.

While there was totally nothing amiss from the entire livestream itself, an X account known for posting updates on music, K-pop, and other artists, posted a Tweet that might have caused others to do a spit take.

And yes, we exactly mean that Tweet where in one photo Matthew was seen showing off his Pokémon card collection and the other photo is him unintentionally flexing his muscles on camera.

Of course, the fans’ reactions were totally called for. Like, our boy was literally talking about Pokémon and there was definitely no need for those guns to be magnified. And the way he was just talking about eggs in that part of the livestream makes this even funnier.

And K-pop stans also had the best reaction to the now viral Tweet—making the same Tweet format with their faves on it.

Oh, and did we mention that Matthew himself has seen the Tweet?

Yes. He did.
