Erin Moriarty takes social media break following Megyn Kelly’s plastic surgery criticism

In an Instagram post on January 27, actress Erin Moriarty of The Boys disclosed her decision to take an indefinite hiatus from social media.

This emerged after ex-Fox News host Megyn Kelly fiercely slammed her appearance on a recent podcast episode of The Megan Kelly Show, accusing her of getting plastic surgery “to completely change her face.”

Kelly compared an old photo of the 29-year-old actress, claiming it was “relatively recent,” with a more recent one. Moriarty clarified in her post that the first picture was taken about a decade ago before she was of “legal drinking age.”

Moriarty added that the second picture Kelly showed was taken when she had just had her makeup done that day, involving extensive contouring. She mentioned that even that day was stressful for her.

In the same podcast, Kelly voiced her view that an obsession with plastic surgery is “a sign of mental illness” and deemed it “a massive turnoff.” She even clarified that she’s not against plastic surgery but believed this case “is something else.”

Moriarty answered the assumptions, “It’s broken my heart. You’ve lost the privilege of this account.” She highlighted that regardless of whether people believed her, the manner it was discussed was inappropriate.

Moriarty ended her post by addressing Megyn Kelly directly, arguing “If you resigned, you would be leaving women in a better place.”
