The highly anticipated grand finale ‘The Last Rakrakan Festival 2023’ delivered two epic days of peace, love, and OPM, with over 170 bands and artists performing live in front of a fun, wild crowd at the SMDC Festival Grounds on November 25 and 26.
It was no surprise that fans piled up early and gathered around center stage to see and enjoy the music of their beloved favorites in the star-studded festival that happened once again after its four-year hiatus.
The OPM icon Rico Blanco headlined Day 1, serving the attendees with good music and a side of nostalgia as he sang his hit songs Your Universe, Elesi, Antukin, and You’ll Be Safe Here. He thanked everyone for coming to the event and also made remarks about the importance of positivity.
Other performers on the first day featured the likes of Syd Hartha, Jana Garcia, Zae, kiyo, and Tanya Markova.
While the A-list music performances were the main attraction of the festival, it also offered diverse activities for attendees to participate in, including a Car Show (B2B), a Skate Clinic (Malachi), a Street Art Competition (in partnership with Do It), Perya Games, a Food and Merch Bazaar, among others.
For Day 2, the hype got even bigger as legendary rock star Ely Buendia headlined the show at the very same venue where his Eraserheads band reunited again. He entertained the audience with tracks like Ang Huling El Bimbo, Alapaap, Ligaya, and Spolarium.
Kean Cipriano rocked the center stage with incredible energy. His artists under OC Records were also present at the festival.
Adie, the artist behind the hit songs Paraluman and Mahika, chatted with attendees and gave an amazing set.
Fans also got to witness Zild, Juan Karlos, ONE CLICK STRAIGHT, mrld, Sagip Adik Foundation, Mayonnaise, and more music artists on the second day as well.
This farewell music festival marks the end of an era for the Rakrakan Festival. Despite it being the last one, it made fans happy throughout the years and gathered everyone to jam together every year since 2013, as they experienced the showcase of various music genres and talents.
