SEVENTEEN calls out to the ‘God of Music’ in their newest vividly colored music video

SEVENTEEN are truly “Gods of music” in their own right.

On October 23, 2023, at 6 P.M. KST, HYBE Labels, Pledis, and SEVENTEEN released the boy group’s 11th mini album titled, ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN’ on all streaming platforms along with the title track’s accompanying music video. The mini album’s release comes 6 months after their 10th EP, ‘FML’ which was released in April 2023.

‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,’ according to Pledis, is a play on the expression “seventh heaven,” meaning a “state of extreme happiness.” True to its inspiration, SEVENTEEN’s newest EP exudes a contagious happy vibe for their newest release.

The EP consists of 8 tracks, including its focus track ‘God of Music.” As usual, member Woozi has played a major part in the mini album’s production, while 5 other members—S.Coups, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon all contributed by co-composing or co-writing some of the lyrics of the songs. American music producer and DJ also features in one of the tracks, “SOS.”

The album also included SEVENTEEN’s unit songs, “Back 2 Back” for the Performance unit (Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino), “Monster” for the Hip-hop unit (S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon), and “Yawn” for the Vocal unit (Woozi, Jeonghan, DK, Seungkwan, and Joshua).

On the same day, YG PLUS, SEVENTEEN’s album distributor, announced that SEVENTEEN’s ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN’ EP had achieved 5,206,718 stock pre-orders—ultimately setting a new record for the highest stock pre-orders for any K-Pop album in history. Media outlets in South Korea had also branded SEVENTEEN as the “Best K-Pop group.”

“God of Music” is described as a soul-funk track combining synthesizers and brass sounds, which definitely sends the message of extreme joy. The lyrics of the song had been provided by Woozi, Bumzu, S.Coups, Mingyu, and Vernon. The song and its music video felt like being in a music festival, and SEVENTEEN just inviting all of us to come and join in the fun.

SEVENTEEN to the world, indeed!
