Philippine Farlight 84 team gets banned following cheating incident

Just 2 weeks following the Farlight 84 Philippines Summit last August 24, 2023, the officials of the fast-paced hero battle royale bans Philippine participating team PNOG after the team had “engaged in cheating behavior.”

The ban announcement was made on Farlight 84’s official social media page last Monday, September 4, 2023. The post also detailed the punishment and consequences of the cheating team’s actions, which included the following: a permanent ban from all FPC events, disqualification from participating in the current season of FPC, and the devices used by the players caught cheating to be permanently forbidden for use and their accounts suspended for 10 years.

Also, all members of the PNOG team are prohibited from joining any events and competitions organized by the Farlight 84 for 3 years.

The Farlight 84 officials and organizers ended their statement by inviting all their players in promoting a fair and just Farlight 84 esports community. Their statement also included a link where players can report similar behavior during the tournament.

Some players of the game from the Facebook group ‘Farlight 84 Philippines’ voiced their shame following team PNOG’s cheating incident. It is known in the community that Farlight 84 recently invested $20 million to the Philippine esports scene for it to continue and thrive.

In the recently concluded Farlight 84 Philippine Summit last August 24, 2023, it had been announced that the game had “set it sights” on expanding its offline presence in the country, in order to “create a stronger bond” with its Filipino player base.

These include a collab with Filipino actress Ella Cruz as the game’s official Philippine Ambassador, a collab with Filipino P-Pop group SB19, and partnering with select PH universities in launching a collegiate program.
