‘Gemini Fourth My Turn Concert’: A 2-day showcase of Thai’s rising stars

(This piece covers Day 1, August 26, of the 2-day concert, and centers on its activities, guests, and wardrobe.)

GMMTV’s current powerhouse duo Gemini Norawit and Fourth Nattawat successfully completed their first major concert “Gemini Fourth My Turn Concert” last August 26-27 at the Impact Arena.

The 4-hour long, 2-day sold-out concerts were a fun-filled festival of vibrant performances, acrobatic theatrics, swoon-worthy covers/renditions, homage to GMMTV’s popular dramas’ OSTs, and even come with special participation of select popular Thai artists/singers of this time.

Innovative production, a la board game concert concept

The “Gemini Fourth My Turn Concert” general theme was reminiscent of board games, like Monopoly, Snakes and Ladders, and the like. The sets were very colorful; the mini-board game with 2 colorful dice (red and blue) parts every after stage reveal, which felt a bit immersive, as if the audience were playing games with them as well.

It was evident that the production behind the 2-day concert went all out with their sets and stage setups as they had humongous LED screens, floating stages, and even a marching band for specific stage performances.

It was an amazing feat as well to sell out one of the largest event venues in Bangkok, for both nights. Additionally, GMMTV also released a pay-per-view live streaming through Thaiticketmajor.

Red and Blue opening

The duo, suspended mid-air, opened the stage with a colorful “Love Love Love,” from “Our Skyy” series, by Gemini.

Donned in matching metallic grunge style attire with a tint of red for Gemini and a tint of blue for Fourth, the “My School President” stars followed it up with a sweet but exhilarating rendition of Fluke Gawin’s “Sweet But Naughty” from the drama “The Warp Effect.” The stage was a mix of everything wherein they danced on top of tables and even somersaulted in mid-air.

Tribute to GMMTV’s popular drama OSTs

Aside from performing their songs and covers, the two current hottest stars of GMMTV also paid homage to some of the channel’s well-loved drama OSTs.

Sporting a la casanovas or playboys’ look from the series “The Jungle,” Gemini and Fourth set the stage ablaze with “Beast Inside.”

Gemini and Fourth or GF, the duo’s name combination abbreviation, sent fluttery feelings to the arena when they appeared lying down side by side on a cloud-like bed. Wearing all white and fluffy furs, they performed another well-loved OST, “Star&Sky” by Louis Thanawin from GMMTV’s “Star & Sky” BL drama series.

The highlight of this stage though are the elevated stages which the two boys each rode.

These cloud-like stage setup allowed the two to hover over the crowd, which reminds you of Goku riding his Flying Nimbus in the Dragon Ball series.

But the performance that made everyone squeal was their rendition of “Good Time” by BRIGHT x Thanaerng from “Good Old Days” drama.

The MSP stars once again proved their love team’s immense chemistry on stage as they performed the melancholic song with romantic elements such as lying down on one’s lap, holding hands, and even singing under the (synthetic or artificial) rain for added dramatic effect.

Interesting numbers from Fourth

Fourth, the winner of GMMTV’s reality show “Thailand School Star 2019,” showcased his various talents on his solo stages.

For starters, he had a stage with a marching band reminiscent of “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” as he acted as a conductor.

The 18-year-old star, donned in yellow summer vibes fashion, also performed his recent single “Please Be Mine.”

Foregoing his jacket and leaving only his white tank top on, he also performed Timethai’s “Keep It Lowkey.”

In this stage, he demonstrated not just his vocal capabilities but his dancing prowess & flexibility, doing different acrobatics such as backflip.

Fourth prepared the song “Hello Mama” by TaitosmitH for his mother.

He sang, rapped, and even showed some guitar skills within the song.

A Gem Like no other

Like Fourth, Gemini also showed their fans what he is made of. His solo segment proved that Gemini indeed is a multi-talented artist.

The 19-year-old star opened his solo segment with his own single “Anything You Want.”

In succeeding performances, Gemini had a little bit of drum play demonstration before he introduced his band “Toxic Band” to perform with him on the stage.

When he performed with his band, Gemini proved that he could definitely sing live powerfully. He flaunted his mature, melodious, and stable vocal skills.

The BAScii student also tried out different instruments before taking the stage by storm with “Villain” by UrboyTJ. Carrying with him a red baseball bat, Gemini displayed his rap skills.

A surprise appearance by Gemini’s favorite

If “Khun Noos”, the official name of the two stars’ fans club, thought they were lucky enough to see Gemini or Fourth perform live, then Gemini perhaps experienced a once-in-a-blue-moon experience of performing on stage with his idol.

The 19-year-old owner of the clothing brand “Divine” proved once again his vocal prowess by nailing his cover of Nont Tanont’s “Always With Me.” But in between his stage, Nont Tanont suddenly arrived on stage, making the crowd roar since every single person in the planet probably knew of Gemini’s huge love for the popular power vocalist in Thailand.

Gemini was flustered by his idol’s appearance on stage but they eventually sang together.

Nont Tanont was originally invited by Gemini to perform as a guest singer but he initially declined for various reasons.

The Thai-Dutch singer heard that the younger one liked him a lot so he went to watch the concert later on just to show support but saw Fourth had a guest singer.

This moment was probably earth-shaking for Gemini since his teleprompter said Nont Tanont wouldn’t be there. Just imagine the surprise he felt when he saw him singing on the same stage.

They had a duet stage next– a real one this time since Gemini had regained his composure as they sang “UNNIVERSARY” alternately.

The vocal explosion is intense; Gemini’s deep voice and Nont Tanont’s solid, soulful vocals matched so well.

Special stages with ALLY, Jaoying, LYKN

The dashing Bangkok boys had prepared special stages with different guest artists, aside from the surprise from The Nont Tanont in Day 1.

Gemini had a sexy dance number, performing “Despacito” with another GMMTV talent, Jaoying.

Fourth had a heart fluttering collab stage with popular Thai singer Ally. They performed the romantic song “Hesitate (ลังเล)” by PP Krit.

During the ment part, Fourth taught Ally the hook choreography of his song “Please Be Mine” for the dance challenge. Later on, they danced it together to the delight of fans.

Their last stage together was Ally’s “How To Love.”

Their musical chemistry on stage was insane. Their voices blended well together.

RISER MUSIC’s very own project boy group LYKN also had their time to shine on stage as special guests.

They performed their songs “UMM UMM” and “MAY I?”

In a true retro game fashion, LYKN segment ended with Gemini and Fourth playing along with them a la battle with swords and spears and bows on hand, singing “You’re Blushing?”

Nostalgia lane with ‘Thailand School Star 2019’ contestants

Fans were in for a treat as they were brought back to 2019 when reality show “Thailand School Star 2019” happened.

VTR showed clips of participants, highlighting the “My School President” boys, in particular.

Ford and Satang, both GMMTV talents and from MSP drama series, each had their own spotlight and performed the songs they used to compete in the contest. Gemini and Fourth also sang their pieces.

With Fourth’s stage though, it was a little bit more thrilling since he recreated his Muay Thai routine from the contest. He executed the moves while singing “วัดใจ / Wat Jai (Test Your Heart)” by Silly Fools.

To cap the segment, the young ensemble wearing their old school uniforms, composed of Gemini, Fourth, Ford, Satang, Earn, performed “A Beautiful Ride.” Earn had an enthralling entrance as she displayed her talent in playing the baton, wowing the audience.

Karaoke and serenades

Sporting soft-looking, colorful attire, Gemini and Fourth returned to the stage riding the moving sofa with a karaoke challenge, wooing each other and making the fans swoon.

The whole segment was them taking turns, serenading each other with famous songs from the 90s that they liked to sing in the karaoke too.

GF box and floating aircraft stage

As part of the encore perhaps, a big box with the GF logo hovered at the center.

Gemini and Fourth came out of the huge floating GF Box; they rode an aircraft a la Transformers ride.

Donning Valentine’s vibes pink suits, the two performed OSTs from “My School President (Once Upon a Time)” and “Our Skyy (Multi-Love).”

“Khun Noos” prepared a fan project for the two stars. At the end of the video, the crowd suddenly sang along with the BGM in the video (My School President’s OST “Rock & Star” by Fourth) while waving their lightsticks.

The MSP lead stars also walked towards their fans, singing another MSP OST, Gemini’s “Hook.”

Renditions of RISER MUSIC stars’ songs

Aside from OST covers, the young stars also had a couple of RISER MUSIC’s popular songs’ renditions.

They performed a trot remix of senior labelmate Krist’s viral song “CALL ME.”

Another song they performed was another labelmate Nanon’s popular song “KNOCK KNOCK.”

For their last song, they sang “You’ve Got Ma Back,” another MSP OST, and hugged after the performance.

A first major concert to remember

The 4-hour concert feat is amazing. The energy, the voice quality, and the performance level of Gemini and Fourth remained constant all throughout the whole show.

It was a well-thought-out concert, showcasing each of their talents fully.

As a side note, a number of GMMTV stars also graced the concerts, both day 1 and day 2, as audiences to show support for their friends and colleagues.
