Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato part ways with manager Scooter Braun

Scooter Braun’s entertainment company SB Project is losing a lot of its major artists, including pop icons Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.

This week, it was confirmed that both Grande and Lovato ended their professional relationship with Braun, according to sources from different international media outlets like People and Billboard.

Grande, who has been working with Braun for a decade, is said to have “outgrown” Braun and is “excited to go in a different direction,” says the source.

The source added, “Yes, there are negotiations happening because of contracts. But this is her choice. It’s time for something new.”

This follows the statement of a music industry source who shared that SB Project’s clients are under contract with certain negotiations going on for months after Braun steps up as HYBE America’s CEO in January – claiming that Grande is still under the management of Braun.

Grande signed with Braun ahead of the release of her debut album Yours Truly in 2013 – and has been under his management since then, releasing her hit albums My Everything in 2014, Dangerous Woman in 2016, Sweetener in 2018, Thank U, Next in 2019, and Positions in 2020.

On the other hand, Lovato, who signed with SB Projects in 2019, is currently looking for new management after parting ways with Braun last month.

Prior to signing with Braun in 2019, Lovato was previously managed by PhilyMack’s Phil McIntyre.

During her four years with Braun, Lovato has released two albums: 2021’s Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over, and 2022’s Holy Fuck, both of which entered the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums charts.

Both Grande and Lovato are set to release an album prior to the news, with Grande releasing a deluxe 10th-anniversary edition of her debut album Yours Truly on August 25, and Lovato releasing a reworked rock version of her biggest hits in an album named Demi Lovato Revamped, out on September 18.
