Filipino celebrities who showed their support and participated in this year’s Pride March

Pride month is an important and special time for the LGBTQ+ community. This time of the year is being held in celebration of the community and to emphasize the importance of LGBTQ+ rights and welfare.

Two major events for the pride march were recently held: The LoveLaban pride festival in Quezon city and the Tuloy ang Kulayaan pride march and festival in Makati city. Several personalities, from popular actresses to beauty queens, showed their support and participated in this year’s pride events. Below are a few well-known celebrities who joined the pride events this 2023:

Gabbi Garcia

In an Instagram post, the actress shared that she and her father are proud allies of the community. “Joined the Pride Ride today!! We are proud allies!” Garcia wrote in the caption of her post.

Garcia also shared a conversation with her father in the post. Based on the post, she was asked by her dad if she had a pride flag. Her dad told him that it was for the “pride ride” and she was asked to join to show support.
“Anddd here we are!!! I love you Dad!! Thank you for stepping up and making a difference!!” Garcia added on the post.

Andrea Brillantes

The actress was part of the many personalities and celebrities who were present during the LoveLaban event in Quezon city. Brillantes gave an amazing drag performance during the event. Brillantes wore a beautiful and colorful outfit inspired by the pride flag to accompany her performance.

“Love will continue to win!” Brillantes said on her Instagram post.

Brillantes is also the star of “Drag You and Me,” a series about a cisgender woman who decided to participate in a major drag competition as she wanted to save their home and drag comedy bar. The famous actress is joined by JC Alcantara and Christian Bables in this series.

Brillantes was joined by JC Alcantara during the event. In a tweet, the actor said that he will forever be an ally of the community.

“Forever an ally and always here to support. Mahal ko kayo. Happy pride!” Alcantara wrote in a tweet featuring photos and a short video clip of him with Brillantes.

Ice Seguerra

Ice Seguerra was also present during the jam-packed pride event in Quezon City. Seguerra treated the attendees of the event to an incredible live performance of different songs including the hit 2011 song “Titanium.”

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee also joined the cast of personalities who were present during the celebration in Quezon City. After winning the prestigious title, it can be remembered that Dee came out last month as bisexual.

“I definitely identify myself as bisexual. I’ve identified with that for as long as I can remember. I’m attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes,” the Miss Universe Philippines winner said during an interview with MEGA Entertainment.

During the event in Quezon City, Dee said that she will not only be raising the country’s flag in her much-awaited competition but also the flag of the LGBTQ+ community.
“Sa pagpunta ko sa El Salvador, I won’t just be raising the Philippine flag. I will also be raising the LGBTQIA+ flag!” Dee said.
