In an intimate online press conference held last June 13, the acclaimed alt-pop duo joan unveiled exciting news about their collaboration with rising star, Zack Tabudlo. With their creativity and passion soaring, the two artists joined forces to release a new version of joan’s single, aptly titled ‘superglue.’
joan’s new album, bearing the same name as their single, serves as a ‘poignant ode’ to life’s uncertainties and the journey of finding oneself.
When asked about the decision behind the album’s title, the duo explained, “It really made sense that it needed to be the title of the album. Basically, it’s saying that whenever we’re feeling we’re in a million pieces, we have people in our lives and loved ones that feel like our superglue that bring us back together.”
joan then expressed their admiration for Zack Tabudlo, acknowledging his powerful vocals and incredible growth as an artist. According to them, it became an obvious choice to collaborate with Zack on a new rendition of ‘superglue.’ “We love Zach. We just love his voice. It made perfect sense that we wanted to have someone feature on another version of ‘superglue,’ and why wouldn’t it be Zach if he’s down?” joan shared.
“It’s our favorite song we’ve ever written, so to have someone like Zach come on board and just kill it for us and take it to another level, it means the world to us,” they added.
For Tabudlo, this collaboration was a dream come true. He confessed he has always been a big fan of joan and their music. “They’ve always been a hero to me, one of those artists who made me who I am today,” he said.
Talking more about his admiration for joan, Tabudlo revealed, “I’ve always looked up to these guys. I was just a listener to these people. It has always just been a dream of mine to be on a track with someone I really look up to.” Grateful for the creative freedom given to him by joan, Tabudlo embraced the opportunity to infuse the song with his unique style and his own lyrics.
The new rendition of ‘superglue’ featuring Zach Tabudlo seeks to touch the audience’s hearts, serving as a reminder that love and support act as the ultimate ‘superglue, binding them and their loved ones even in the midst of life’s challenges.
The new track is out June 16.
