Taylor Swift announces collaborations with Ice Spice and Lana Del Rey

Taylor Swift surprised her fans with the announcement of her collaborations with American rapper Ice Spice and singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey.

Ice Spice is known for her songs “Munch (Feelin’ U),” “In Ha Mood,” “Bikini Bottom,” “Princess Diana,” among others. Del Rey is known for “Young and Beautiful,” “Summertime Madness,” and “Love” among others.

In her tweet, Swift revealed her collaborations with the two artists. “Um. SO much to tell you. I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch,” the singer-songwriter said in the beginning of the tweet.

“So delighted to say that Karma Featuring the incredible @icespicee_ will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as a part of the new Midnights (Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album…” Swift added.

The singer-songwriter also announced that she and Del Rey recorded more of the song “Snow on the Beach”.

“In addition to Karma Ft Ice Spice… You asked for it, we listened: Lana and I went back into the studio specifically to record more Lana on Snow on the Beach,” Swift said, confirming the collaboration with Del Rey. “Love u Lana,” she added in the tweet.

Midnights is Swift’s tenth studio album. It consists of 13 songs such as “Lavender Haze,” “Maroon,” “Anti-Hero,” the previously mentioned “Karma” and “Snow on the Beach,” and many more.

In October 2022, the song “Karma” debuted at the ninth spot on the Hot 100 chart, according to a report. It is among the tracks that made Swift the first artist to dominate the whole top 10 of the said chart in one week.

On the other hand, the song “Snow on the Beach” is said to be the only track in the album that had a featured guest.

Taylor Swift is in the midst of a romance rumor with 1975 frontman Matty Healy. Swift is also currently on her The Eras Tour.

The announcement of the collaboration drew flak online, as many people online recalled Healy’s controversy involving Ice Spice.

According to a report, the vocalist laughed at the jokes of the hosts of the podcast “The Adam Friedland Show.” Adam Friedland and co-host Nick Mullen called Ice Spice an “Inuit spice girl” and a “chubby Chinese lady.” The report added that Healy apologized to Ice Spice in April.
