MrBeast blasts critics for anti-trans comment about his friend Chris Tyson

In this household, we don’t welcome and tolerate transphobia. So does MrBeast, and he has had enough of people’s anti-trans commentaries about his friend, Chris Tyson.

In case you missed it: YouTuber MrBeast’s long-time friend and collaborator Chris Tyson, who goes by any pronouns, has shared that they have started hormone replacement therapy (HRT) two months ago.

Chris revealed this when one Twitter user noticed the change in the YouTuber’s appearance in MrBeast’s recent video, “$1 vs $500,000 Plane Ticket.”

According to Mayo Clinic, HRT is a gender-affirming hormone therapy that helps align the appearance of a person with their affirmed gender identity.

“Informed consent HRT saved my and many others’ lives,” Chris wrote in a separate post. “The hurdles [gender nonconforming people] have to jump through to get life-saving gender-affirming healthcare in a first world country is wild to me.”

“Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies,” they added.

Chris has also shut down rumors about their identity, saying that they have purposely “not come out” yet.

“I purposely have not come out as any identity. I just disclosed I was on hormones,” they said. “I’m going to talk more in the future but for right now, any video claiming I ‘identify as X’ is just speculation.”

Shortly after Chris shared the news on Twitter, much like the time Chris came out as bisexual in 2020, their fans and fellow creators have been supportive of Chris’ decision and expressed their love for the star.

Chris admitted that they were nervous at first to share their story with the public, but said he was glad that many people are now learning more about HRT through sharing their own journey.

“I’m genuinely so glad many people are learning what HRT is and how it can and has helped so many people because of my tweet,” Chris wrote. “I was super nervous to be public about this because I’ve always been so private when it comes to this, but seeing conversations started because of me is amazing.”

“It makes everything so worth it. I’m so excited to have more conversations like this in the future with you all,” they continued.

However, the YouTube star has also drawn criticism from some of MrBeast’s viewers, throwing transphobic comments left and right.

At one point, a YouTuber named SunnyV2 uploaded a video with the title, “Why Chris Will Soon Be A Nightmare for MrBeast.” The caption also implied that Chris’ journey is “MrBeast’s biggest controversy to date.”

This has caught the attention of MrBeast, who has had enough of the hate and bigotry towards his friend.

He responded on Twitter and gave Chris’ critics a piece of his mind, saying that he’s pissed off with the anti-trans commentaries made about his friend.

“Yeah, this is getting absurd. Chris isn’t my ‘nightmare.’ He’s my fucken (sic) friend and things are fine,” MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, tweeted. “All this transphobia is starting to piss me off.”

Despite the continuous backlash (which doesn’t make sense, tbh) Chris has been getting, fans still flooded and outpoured the media personality with love and support for their honest journey with HRT.

MrBeast is one of the most popular YouTubers for the past year. He currently garnered over 147 million subscribers on his primary account, making him the second most subscribed YouTuber next to PewDiePie. MrBeast’s content ranges from doing extreme challenges that rewarded participants prize money to donation videos, among others.
