Wanderland Music and Arts Festival makes its grand comeback after 3 years

Now, this is how a ‘comeback’ should look and feel like.

Colorful, grand, fun, and exciting are only a few words to describe the much-awaited comeback of the Wanderland Music and Arts festival last weekend at the Filinvest City Events Grounds.

After a long time, we’re finally entering the ‘era of comebacks.’ We had to wait years to get here after everything has been put on hold due to the pandemic. While we still have a long way to go before we reach the final form of the “New Normal,” it’s a good sign that we’re now able to enjoy, celebrate, and mingle again with our circle through festivals like Wanderland.

And among all the ‘comebacks’ that Filipino festival goers have been waiting for, this is definitely one of the most anticipated ones. Three years since its hiatus in 2020, Karpos Multimedia’s annual outdoor music and arts festival is back, even bigger and better.

Finally, March 4 marked the end of the ‘waiting game’ for thousands of wanderers. The clear skies and the radiant sun, appearing to celebrate with the festival goers, created the perfect atmosphere at the open-space venue.

Whether it’s a feast for the eyes, ears, or stomach, the blue-green themed festival has all attendees covered. I guess it’s safe to say that there is no boring corner at the event. Various colorful booths with games and fun prizes made the experience more exciting.

Wanderers had a wide selection to munch on, with various food stalls offering Filipino, American, Japanese, and Chinese foods. Alcoholic beverages were also offered during the whole course of the event. Water refill stations throughout the venue can also be found where people could refill their cups bottles for free.

Of course, Wanderland is not ‘Wanderland’ without a good lineup of performers. A mix of international and local acts entertained the crowd, not to mention that the festival has included several Asian acts this time such as Sunset Rollercoaster, Leo Wang, HYBS, and Balming Tiger.

The stage was perfectly designed to cater a smooth and impressive show. With two stages that artists take on alternately, wanderers get to enjoy the performances with little to no interruptions.

Here are the acts who graced the stage during Wanderland: The Comeback Day 1:

The Sundown
Via Wanderland // Cebu-based band ‘The Sundown’ is the perfect show opener as they set the energy level high with a few original songs. The group won the Wanderbattle back in 2020, a yearly competition in which independent artists compete for a spot on the Wanderland lineup.
Leo Wang
Via Wanderland // Taiwanese singer-rapper Leo Wang amazed the audience with unique musical flavors during his set.
Blaster and the Celestial Klown
Via Wanderland // Blaster and the Celestial Klown owned the stage with their OPM indie pop and soft rock tracks.
Ylona Garcia
Via Wanderland // One of the crowd favorites, Ylona Garcia, got the whole venue vibin’ with her R&B and soulful tracks.
Balming Tiger
Via Wanderland // Multi-national alternative K-pop band Balming Tiger shook the ground with their songs and a short choreography.
Men I Trust
Via Wanderland // Men I Trust serenaded the crowd with the soothing melody of their indie pop songs.
Raveena
Via Wanderland // The American singer Raveena made the the crowd sing along with her contemporary R&B, unique silky tunes.
No Rome
Via Wanderland // No Rome got everyone dancing and singing along with some synth-pop tracks.
Sunset Roller Coaster
Via Wanderland // Pop band Sunset Roller Coaster plays synth-infused jazz before wanderers.
(((o)))
Via Wanderland // (((o))) impressed the crowd as she started her set with a dance performance. She then went on singing her soulful originals.
Carly Rae Jepsen
Via Wanderland // The event’s headliner, Carly Rae Jepsen, filled the venue with her radiant presence. During her almost two-hour set, the pop star made the crowd sing, jump, and scream with her hit tracks such as ‘Surrender My Heart,’ ‘Call Me Maybe,’ ‘I Really Like You.’

Overall, Wanderland: The Comeback Festival made attendees happy. With everything that made wanderers’ festival experience memorable (bonding with friends, fun activities, artists’ impressive performance), the Wanderland festival was indeed worth every penny.
