One Stop Record Fair at Estancia holds selling event, celebs spotted digging vintage records

Thousands of record enthusiasts, vinyl aficionados, and music lovers visited the One Stop Record Fair at Estancia Mall in Pasig in February, with celebrities spotted joining the event hosted by Collectors Con.

The event featured 25 record sellers offering discounted vinyl pieces, rare OPM CDs, music-themed t-shirts, and audio gear to visitors.

“Filipinos love a good bargain. Music enthusiasts go crazy for discounted quality vinyl records. There is a sense of anticipation to get first dibs on rare items and we are happy that we were able to provide a good time to our visitors and our merchants,” Collectors Con Lead Sari Osorio said.

Among the interesting titles spotted on sale were Clair Marlo/Let it go, Beatles Limited Edition 1996  issue, Michael Jackson Thriller, New Order Substance, Rex Smith Sooner or Later, Red Hot Chili Peppers Greatest Hits, Metallica Death Magnetic, Everything but the Girl EP. “Missing”, Pheripheral Version “Turn Over”, Ramones “I Wanna be Sedated”, Simply Red “Stars”, Led Zeppelin “The Song Remains the Same” For OPM, spotted are Sampaguita, The best of Apo Hiking, Kuh Ledesma’s Kuh’s Magic, Juan dela Cruz Super Sessions, and Arthur Manuntag’s “Timeless”.

Music filled the entire place with DJ sets and rock bands from morning until evening, setting the mood for all music lovers. Upcoming artist Liza Uraning of DB Brothers rocked the scene when she sang the cover of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know”.

Thy Holy Water led by 90s rock band former Piranha vocalist Mike Bewer also graced the event with their signature rock and roll music. The crowd sang their hearts out as Bewer played the cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze.”

There were fresh faces and younger buyers in the crowd. One of them is a 10-year-old kid who spent P10,000 for his dibs. He got different titles for today’s music like Black Pink, Lalalisa, and more.

“We strive to bring in more merchants to provide more options for our visitors. The recent One Stop Record Fair featured more vinyl titles and rare finds that really piqued the interest of the crowd. It is my advocacy to bring all the record enthusiasts together in one fair,” Osorio said.

She added that it is her passion for music, which started during marketing stint at NU107, that fuels her to mount events like the One Stop Record Fair.

“We want to create more events to celebrate music and promote the record industry here in Manila and the rest of the Philippines,” Osorio said.

The second leg of the One Stop Record Fair is slated for June.
