‘Especially For You’: Park Eun-Bin woos Filipinos in first international fanmeet

From learning common Pinoy phrases to singing an iconic OPM piece, Korean actress Park Eun-Bin gave fans a uniquely Filipino experience during her first international fan meeting on Sunday, Oct. 23 at the New Frontier Theater.

The “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” lead star stunned the crowd after kicking off her Asia tour, “Eun-Bin Note: Binkan In Manila,” with a cover of “Hello” by Red Velvet’s Joy and a well-prepared Filipino greeting.

Eun-Bin said that she really made an effort to learn the Filipino language, hoping to better connect with the local “Bingos.”

“Kumusta kayo? Ako pala si Eun-Bin. Nagagalak akong makita kayo,” she said. “Namiss ko kayo, salamat sa pagpunta!” (How are you? I am Park Eun-Bin. I am happy to see you! I missed you all, thank you for coming!)

Throughout the event, the star also blurted out phrases like “talaga” (really), “dali-dali” (make it fast) and “sana all” (hopefully everyone), which left fans in awe.

But they were not prepared for her final surprise.

After a night of getting to know the Korean actress through a series of Q and A portions and several games, Bingos cheered as Eun-Bin sang the “Especially For You” by the OPM band MYMP.

She explained that she chose the OPM classic to be her final song as it is “like a gift to someone you love.”

“Pinipigilan ko nga yung sarili kong umiyak pero parang di ko kayang pigilan just thinking about you singing the song. We love you much unnie,” a user said in a tweet.

“The effort she exerted to learn our language for her Philippines’ fans is so touching! There are a lot of Filipino words she knew,” another fan wrote.

Just as she tried to win over the Filipinos’ hearts, her fans also made sure to give a warm welcome to Eun-Bin during her first international fan meeting through gifts and heartfelt messages.

The star was brought to tears by a heartfelt video dedicated to her by Filipino fans, which premiered before the show came to a close. Bingos also left gifts and letters for Eun-Bin at the lobby of the New Frontier Theater.

The actress is also set to visit Bangkok, Singapore and Tokyo in November for the rest of her Asia tour.
