2016 has been a tough year for penguins — especially with the story of infidelity that ended in a bloody fight and shook the entire nation.
Today as we celebrate, Penguin Awareness Day, we recognize all the good things penguins have taught us, despite one penguin’s decision to choose her husband’s friend over him and watching them have a blood bath fight like it’s no big deal. Penguins are such cute, pure, and nice creatures.
1. Despite their infidelity issues, penguins showed us how to be the most loyal friend, especially to people we’re grateful for.
2. The world may be a cruel place to live, but as long as there’s food, we can be happy.
FOOD > everything else
3. They made us believe that no matter how difficult things get, if we put our mind to it, we can do it.
I BELIEVE I CAN FLYYYY, I BELIEVE I CAN TOUCH THE SKYYYY…
4. And we can always stand up after every fall.
5. When life gets hard, dance it out!
6. Never be afraid to take a leap of faith even if you know it might hurt you.
7. You know your mom is the best shield to protect you from your mapang-asar na siblings.
“Mamaaaaa oh!!!”
8. Like us humans, “ball is life” for them penguins!
9. Height doesn’t matter as long as you get to scare off your foe.
“Anong sinasabi mong maliit ako?!!”
10. They showed us how to properly pick up a newspaper because we humans are too lazy for that.
Dammit, hooman, pick up your own newspaper!
11. No part of the squad should be left behind.
12. This group of penguins is giving Taylor Swift’s squad a run for their money.

13. In a group of friends, there will always be that someone who fails to do what others can do easily.
BES, PAANO BAAAA?
14. Penguins have taught us how to teach someone a lesson when they’re acting stupid.
“Ayan, kulit mo e.”
15. They’ve taught us to find creative ways to make use of our uniqueness.
*Me after eating too much and I can’t run*
16. Penguins have showed us how to love our own kind, like this little one who proudly carries his “penguin bag.”
Walking with swag in the neighborhood though!
17. They remind us to never trust fake friends who might push us off a cliff one day.
18. Seriously, this is why we have trust issues!
19. They’re also living proof that when people insist “I’m not drunk yet,” it means they already are.
“Isang shot na lang, bes!”
20. And at the end of the day, there’s always a lot of things to be happy about and grateful for.
