On a rainy Friday night, fans braved the weather to celebrate Lee Hi’s birthday during her Seoulite Showcase in Manila performance last September 23.
Pinoy “HiceCreams” (Lee Hi’s fandom name) surprised the K-pop star with a “pink party” — complete with banners, party hats, and a pink dress code.
Through a translator, Lee Hi communicated with her fans and expressed her gratitude for the love and support she’s receiving from them.
“I feel energetic to see you guys enjoying the show. Thank you!”
Lee Hi showcased her vocal prowess as she performed some songs from her album Seoulite like “Breathe,” “Official,” and “Hold My Hand.” She wowed the crowd with her rapping on songs like “Up All Night,” “Video,” “Special,” and “World Tour.”
Lee Hi also entertained the crowd with songs from her debut album such as “Rose,” “Fool for Love,” “1, 2, 3, 4,” “Hold My Hand,” and “My Star.”
To her fans’ surprise, Lee Hi performed “FXXK WIT US,” mentioning she hasn’t performed it anywhere else in her Seoulite Showcase Tour in Asia. She also gave goosebumps-worthy renditions of “Bust The Window” and “Mercy” which she originally sang during her KPop Star days.
HiceCreams showed their outpouring love for Lee Hi by singing along to every song as if they’re so used to speaking in Korean. Language may have been a barrier but Lee Hi’s interpreter allowed her to connect with her fans on a personal level.
In a fun interview by former Eat Bulaga Foreignay, Dasuri Choi, fans got to know more of Lee Hi as she answered Miss Universe-worthy questions. Here are some of the highlights:
1. She likes socks. A LOT.
2. “Fool for Love” is one of her favorite songs from her first album.
3. She wants to go to Cebu for her honeymoon (in the future).
4. Angelina Jolie on Mr. & Mrs. Smith is her ideal movie character.
5. Her ideal type is someone responsible, has good leadership and conversation skills.
6. She likes the word “attractive” more than “pretty.”
7. She wants to spend her Christmas with her boyfriend, though she doesn’t have one yet…
8. …so what she wants from Santa is — a boyfriend!
9. “Tteokbokki” is what she wants to cook for her fans
10. In 10 years, she will still be singing and working hard.
11. Her message to herself in 10 years? “Fighting!”
12. It was a dream come true for her to be with her fans on her birthday. Aww.
