School teams compete to be Android Masters

Innovation and creativity were highlighted in this year’s Android Masters. Hosted by Google Developer Group Philippines, the country’s first Android Masters is a collegiate inter-school Android app development challenge which encourages students to develop their creative app ideas and publish it to the Google Play Store. The competition was received with great enthusiasm with a total of 72 teams nationwide competing for the title. The top 10 teams presented their ideas during the Finals Night held last October 23 at PLDT Inno-lab, Mandaluyong City.

The top 10 teams were given seven minutes to pitch their idea. Judges for the event in- clude Jason Sia (Founder of 1337 Ventures, Malaysia), Lionel Belen (Founder and CEO of Brainsparks), Noel Gary del Castillo (CEO of Pragtech), Jonathan Lansangan

(CTO of DynamicObjx Labs), and Allan Tan (CEO of Ideyatech and Co-Director of Founders Institute Manila).
