CANNES, France, May 16, 2018 – Lucasfilm’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” the newest adventure taking place in the Star Wars galaxy, held its red carpet event at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival as part of the Official Selection and Out of Competition.
Director Ron Howard attended the premiere along with cast members Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller, Joonas Suotamo and Paul Bettany. Making the proceedings truly memorable was the appearance of the Chewbacca who also walked the red carpet.
Prior to the red carpet, the cast and filmmakers also participated in a daytime photo call for the media covering the festival.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is the second film in the Star Wars story series, following the global hit “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which opened in December 2016.
The film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel. Lawrence Kasdan, Jason McGatlin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are the executive producers. Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan wrote the screenplay.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” opens in Philippine cinemas on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
