The Christmas season brings many familiar things: lanterns hanging in the windows, children singing Jingle Bells, colorful Christmas trees in public places, and a table full of smoked ham and queso de bola, among others.
In spite of the usual things that make us feel the holiday spirit, Filipinos know at heart that the more important thing this season is being with their loved ones.
Christmas has always been regarded as the perfect time for reunions. It’s that time of the year when Balikbayans return home, old friends meet up, and families host reunions.
Through the years, McDonald’s has seen a lot of friends meeting up over their favorite World Famous Fries and McFloat and families bonding over McShare Bundles with Chicken McDo and McNuggets this season.
That’s why McDonald’s Philippines celebrates the warmth of reunions this Christmas season with #KitaKitsUlit, a social media campaign that highlights the quirks of Filipino reunions, ranging from interesting family get-together stories to remembering that person who usually gives an excuse for not making it to the barkada gathering.
The #KitaKitsUlit campaign culminates at the beginning of Simbang Gabi this year.
To make that early morning trip to the church cozier this year, McDonald’s Philippines is giving away free 8oz McCafé Premium Roast Coffee with any breakfast sandwich or platter purchased from Dec 16 to 24, 4:30-6:00AM in select stores nationwide.
McDonald’s has always been part of many Filipino Christmas traditions. This year, McDonald’s Philippines rolled out Holiday must-haves in stores to make the Christmas celebrations merrier such as the bundle of Chicken McDo and McNuggets for sharing of family or friends and the best-selling limited edition McFlurry Flavors (McFlurry with Sans Rival or McFlurry with Oreo Matcha).
It also launched its Single Bells, Keribels campaign dedicated to all the single people. The campaign aims to make Christmas a reason to celebrate for everyone, even for single people, through a highly-relevant sentiment, motivating them to reward themselves with their favorite McDonald’s treats.
