Qizai, the only brown and white panda in the world, had trouble growing up when he was abandoned by his mother. Other panda cubs would bully him and steal his food due to his unusual look.

The unique panda cub was found by researchers in a nature reserve in Qingling Mountains in Central China and was taken at Shaanxi Rare Wildlife Rescue.

Eventually, he was transferred at Foping Panda Valley where he now enjoys a good life, raised in a separate enclosure where no one pesters him about his bamboo.

According to Qizai’s personal caretaker, He Xin, Qizai is “slower than other pandas, but he is also cuter.”

Qizai, who is now 7 years old, weighs more than 220 pounds and eats around 44 pounds of bamboo a day or Chinese flour buns.

Scientist are intrigued to find out the mystery of Qizai’s brown and white fur, unlike his mother who’s black and white like any other panda. They believe this might be a result of some genetic mutation.

The used-to-be-bullied panda instantly became famous when news broke online that Chinese experts are planning to find him a mate. They are hoping that by observing and studying the appearance of his possible offsprings, they’d be able to point out what caused his unusual fur color.
