Filo gamers, Nintendo has a surprise for you—they are launching an official website for Filipino residents!
On February 22, the Japanese video game company announced the news through its Southeast Asia Facebook page with the official link to the website attached to the post.
“Hello, this is Nintendo. We are pleased to announce the launch of the “Nintendo Official Website” for residents of the Philippines,” Nintendo wrote in the site’s introduction. It added: “We will provide various information about Nintendo, including Nintendo Switch console, game software, and characters from the game series such as Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda.”
The official website currently provides news and information about the company’s forthcoming games and updates. However, Nintendo has yet to announce whether the company will launch an eShop in the Philippines.
Aside from the Philippines, Nintendo also launched an official website for users residing in Malaysia.
Per IGN Southeast Asia, Nintendo started its expansion in Southeast Asia in 2021 by launching its Facebook page and YouTube channel. Shortly after, they set up a website for Singapore residents in October 2021, and Thailand in December 2021, where they also launched an official eStore.
