It seems like Aang and Ozai already had their face-off even before the Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action premiere.
The Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action, the upcoming adaptation of the iconic cartoon series, is currently being filmed in Canada. As of writing, while fans are waiting for new updates, a new picture of Aang and the Fire Lord Ozai has surfaced on the internet.
Gordon Cormier, who plays the main character Aang, posted on his Instagram feed a photo with co-actor Daniel Dae Kim, who plays the villain in the story. In the photo, the two actors can be seen in their fighting poses, practicing their bending skills.
“Momo, time for you to go,” writes Cormier in his post. This caption is directed to the winged lemur character who goes with the name of Momo, the loyal companion of Aang in the iconic cartoon series.
The Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon series aired from 2005 to 2008. The story revolves around the journey of 12-year-old Aang, the last survivor among the Air Nomads, and his friends Sokka, Katara and Toph as they attempt to put an end to the Hundred Year War and bring peace to all four nations. It can be considered as one of the greatest animated series as people continue to love the characters up to this day.
Since its announcement in 2018, fans have been anticipating the adaptation’s release. However, filming did not begin officially until late last year. If there are no further delays, we can expect its premiere in the latter part of this year or in early 2023.
