Amidst all the memes and the iconic looks served by our favorite celebrities, there was one adorable moment that happened at the Met Gala.
Timothée Chalamet attended the event, looking dashing in an all-white suit by Haider Ackermann. Keke Palmer, who hosted the red carpet livestream of this year’s Met Gala, caught him for an interview to ask him about his preparation for the event.
“Timothée, how are you? I’ve heard your preparation for today was quite a production. Tell me a little bit about it,” Keke asked the 25-year-old actor. Timothée started his answer with “Yeah, we did a bit of a…” but he trailed off like there was something he wanted to say.
Instead of answering Keke, he threw a question back at her, though it had nothing to do with the interview. “You know we met when we were 17, right?” he asked Keke, much to her surprise. The 28-year-old actress thought for a moment, then remembered that they did in fact meet years back, when they had a photoshoot together for Teen Vogue.
The internet has been obsessing over this cute moment, with some fans actually digging through Teen Vogue’s past shoots and successfully unearthing said photoshoot. The photoshoot was for Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood Class of 2014, handled by British photographer Josh Olins.

A fan on TikTok managed to clip a different moment from the Met Gala livestream, saying that Timothée was indeed crushing on Keke.
In the TikTok video, her co-host Ilana Glazer was telling Keke that Timothée has been looking for her, which made her laugh. The video also included a clip of Timothée’s expression when he finally found Keke, along with a clip of him biting his lip while looking at her during his interview.
