Young K hopes to showcase his artistic versatility in solo debut EP ‘Eternal’

Young K’s debut EP is just like his passion for music– it is eternal.

DAY6’s bassist, vocalist, and songwriter Young K has finally dropped his solo debut EP, ‘Eternal’ on September 6, 2021 at 6 P.M. KST, along with a music video for his title track, “Guard You”. A week after the release of his album, Young K will be dropping another music video on September 13, 2021, for his subtitle song ‘come as you are’.

Young K’s solo EP debut falls a day short of DAY6’s 7th anniversary as a group, having debuted on September 7, 2015 under JYP Entertainment.

The mini album, ‘Eternal’, features 7 self-written and self-composed tracks from Young K himself, showcasing his musical prowess in an effort to bring comfort and solace to fans. The EP is said to convey Young K’s spirit as a musician and his irresistible passion in his craft.

Fans were absolutely ecstatic over Young K’s solo debut, hyping him up all over on social media.

The bassist of South Korea’s representative band is known for being the lyricist and heart of DAY6’s brilliant discography, having written majority of the band’s songs such as ‘You Were Beautiful,’ ‘Time of Our Life,’ ‘Letting Go,’ ‘Zombie,’ and ‘You Make Me.’ He has also written the songs of DAY6’s sub-unit, Even of Day with fellow member Wonpil.

Young K has also been a featured artist in other artist’s songs, such as former labelmate Bae A-yeon’s ‘Shouldn’t Have,’ Jamie Park’s ‘20’, American Pop duo X Lovers’ ‘Love’, and most recently, Filipino folk-pop/rock band Ben&Ben’s ‘Leaves’.

Last August 16, 2021, JYP Entertainment confirmed news of Young K’s solo debut on September. Later that day, Young K also announced that he will be enlisting in the military on October 12, 2021. He will be serving in the Korean Augmentation to the United States Army, or KATUSA, which requires its applicants to exhibit a high degree of fluency in English. It is said that Young K is the first K-Pop idol to be accepted into the program.

Young K is the second member of DAY6 to enlist into the military, following leader Sungjin last March 8, 2021.
