Lorde has risen and returns with ‘Solar Power’ this hot girl summer

It’s Lorde’s hot girl summer and we’re just living in it.

The artist’s comeback has been three years in the making as the ‘Melodrama’ singer has kept a low profile on social media since her last release. Over the past few years, Lorde left fans with nothing but crumbs— both music-related and onion ring-related to tide them over until her next album.

Looks like the wait was worth it though as Lorde shows us a different side of her (in more ways than one) in her latest release, ‘Solar Power’. She’s kinda like a prettier Jesus.

In the accompanying music video, Lorde is seen dressed in a bright yellow number, living her best hippie life on the beach— a stark contrast to her previous work that often left us in tears. However, that’s not the most shocking part of this drop.

Fans were most surprised to see the singer-songwriter bare all in the single’s cover art, where her butt cheeks appear front and center. “I love this cover and [I’m] happy for this to be how people see my butt,” Lorde shared in an interview with press.

Lorde’s ‘Solar Power’ butt cheeks are honestly the type of energy we need this hot girl summer. They sure make for some hilarious memes too.

Poorly edited memes aside, we’re glad our girl is back and we’re excited to see what comes out next from this dreamy era.

All we have to say is, thank you Taylor Swift for finally passing Jack Antonoff off to Lorde.
